Clarity follows closely behind courage. While it takes courage to take the small step, clarity is not as simple as it appears to be. Vague intentions rarely survive contact with reality. I should know, I was vague in my intentions and wishing for good outcome, I made a complete mess. I had read some where that successful starters define what they want with enough precision to create direction, yet remain flexible enough to adapt.
They ask basic questions such as
What does success look like?
What is the smallest viable first step?
What resources do I actually need versus what I think I need?
Over-planning generally becomes a form of procrastination, yet in the same breathe under-planning leads to wasted motion. The balance is a clear enough vision to motivate effort and a bias toward testing that vision quickly in the real world.
